- Vetter has announced the development of V-OVS next, an upgraded version of its proprietary syringe closure system, set to launch in 2027.
- The new system will integrate technical improvements to enhance user-friendliness, handling, and security, while maintaining the protection of injectable products.

Vetter a globally operating Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), has revealed plans for the upcoming launch of the V-OVS next, a next-generation version of its proprietary syringe closure system. The system is set for release in 2027 and aims to address evolving market needs and customer feedback, while building on the proven success of the original V-OVS system.
Designed for glass-barrel syringes, the V-OVS next will retain its core function of securing injectable products with a tamper-evident closure, but with several notable enhancements. The new closure will feature gold-standard Luer Lock integration, providing an even more user-friendly experience. The system’s updated design will make it easier to handle, with improved gripping surfaces for optimal control during opening and a robust locking mechanism that ensures secure closure during clinical use.
Tobias Nemeth, Director of Primary Packaging Service & Projects at Vetter, commented, “With its proprietary tamper-evident features, we’re confident that V-OVS next will bring a new level of user-friendliness to Luer Lock applications.” These improvements aim to differentiate the product in a competitive market and offer better handling for smaller syringe sizes.
Currently in development, Vetter has already placed V-OVS next on a launch path for 2027. The company recently completed a human factors study involving frontline clinical users, who provided valuable feedback that will contribute to the final design. Once launched, Vetter will continue offering both V-OVS and V-OVS next, expanding its portfolio to provide customers with a wider range of syringe closure options.
