Ribobay Pharma, a Chinese biopharmaceutical contract research, development, and manufacturing organisation (CRDMO), has announced its collaboration with Cytiva. The company has adopted Cytiva’s first FlexFactory platform for oligonucleotide (oligo) manufacturing, marking a significant step in providing cGMP-level oligo CRDMO services globally.
The manufacturing is scheduled to commence in June. The company expects to produce several hundred kilograms of pharmaceutical oligo per year, promising increased reliability, speed, and efficiency in the development of novel therapies.
Jingui Yong, General Manager of Ribobay Pharma, expressed his optimism about the collaboration. He said, “With the support of Cytiva, we will rapidly expand our oligo CRDMO business by manufacturing high-quality and diversified innovative drugs, as well as new vaccine adjuvant (CpG-ODNs) for global customers. We look forward to building on synergies and creating more value with our collaborators.”
The adoption of the FlexFactory platform will enable Ribobay Pharma to better serve its customers. The platform will provide process development support, optimisation, method development, pilot production services, and customised manufacturing services.
The collaboration between Cytiva and Ribobay Pharma is a response to market needs and developmental bottlenecks.
