- The company has committed to aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to achieve net-zero emissions.
Curia, a global contract research, development, and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has announced its commitment to set near- and long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets. The targets will align with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are part of the company’s broader goal of achieving net-zero emissions.
Over the next two years, Curia will evaluate and develop these targets for submission to the SBTi for approval. This forms part of Curia’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programme, which aims to reduce the company’s environmental impact globally. Curia operates facilities in the United States, Europe, and Asia, where its environmental actions could make a notable global impact.
Philip Macnabb, CEO of Curia, stated, “Our targets are ambitious, but we recognise the urgency and importance of cutting emissions in the near-term. With facilities across three continents, our actions can significantly affect communities globally.”
Curia’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management system, which is modelled after ISO standards, underpins its ESG efforts. The system is based on eight pillars that guide year-on-year improvement, with sustainability being a key focus.
In addition to its SBTi commitment, Curia has joined the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign, aiming to halve global emissions by 2030.
