- The collaboration positions bitBiome as a fully integrated biotechnology company across the biomanufacturing value chain.
bitBiome, a biotechnology company focused on microbial discovery, has announced a new partnership enabling commercial-scale production of enzymes, proteins, and ingredients. The collaboration establishes bitBiome as a fully integrated organisation, offering services from early discovery through to manufacturing and supply.
The partnership extends bitBiome’s capabilities beyond its existing platform, which centres on a vast microbial genome database used for product discovery and engineering. The company can now support end-to-end biomanufacturing for sectors including food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications.
According to the press release, the deal allows for manufacture under applicable regulatory conditions and strengthens bitBiome’s role in supplying bio-based products. It also addresses a key gap in bitBiome’s offering—commercial-scale production within its own ecosystem.
“With this partnership, bitBiome has not only the access to the largest genetic repository… but we now have the full capacity to manufacture and produce those products at commercial scale,” said CEO Yuji Suzuki.
