Emmes Group Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification for Data Security

  • Emmes Group has received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification following a rigorous audit, confirming compliance with global information security standards.
  • The certification ensures secure data management across its operations, reinforcing its commitment to AI-driven and digital-native clinical research.

Emmes Group, a specialty technology and AI-enabled contract research organisation (CRO), has been accredited with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. The certification follows a comprehensive audit, validating the company’s adherence to global information security standards across its people, processes, and technology. The recognition extends to its subsidiaries, Emmes and Veridix.

Issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is the globally recognised benchmark for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). The certification highlights Emmes Group’s commitment to safeguarding sensitive clinical trial data while supporting biotech and pharmaceutical partners with secure and innovative solutions. As AI and advanced analytics play an increasing role in clinical trials, robust data security is essential for maintaining trial integrity and regulatory compliance.

Scott Hospes, Vice President of Enterprise Security, Applications, and Technology at Emmes Group, commented: “We are increasingly now in an age of incredibly data-rich trials, with data gathering and analysis as an integral part of accelerating development timelines and lowering trials costs. Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification reflects our dedication to the highest standards of information security and the most up-to-date best practices.”

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 provides a structured framework for establishing and maintaining information security protocols. The latest revision introduces updated security controls addressing access management, cryptography, physical security, and emerging challenges such as cloud security and AI integration. These enhancements help organisations mitigate risks associated with supply chain vulnerabilities and evolving digital threats.
