Syneos Health Partners With Causaly to Embed Agentic AI Across Scientific CRO Workflows

COMPANY PROFILE
  • Syneos Health, a leading fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization and CRO, has announced a strategic partnership with Causaly, an agentic AI platform purpose-built for life sciences research and development, to deploy Causaly across high-impact scientific functions including therapeutic area expertise, medical advisory, real-world evidence, patient advocacy, and proposal development.
  • The collaboration embeds Causaly’s high-precision biomedical knowledge graph and agentic AI capabilities directly into Syneos Health’s scientific workflows — enabling evidence-backed, citation-grounded research outputs at scale and forming part of a broader AI-powered clinical ecosystem Syneos Health is assembling to improve sponsor responsiveness, scientific rigor, and decision-making speed across the development lifecycle.

Syneos Health, a leading fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions CRO, announced on August 18, 2026, from London, a strategic partnership with Causaly, the agentic AI platform purpose-built for life sciences research and development. The collaboration will roll out the Causaly platform across Syneos Health’s highest-impact scientific functions — spanning therapeutic area expertise, medical advisory, real-world evidence generation, patient advocacy, and proposal development — to enable faster, evidence-backed scientific outputs and more responsive engagement with sponsors across the clinical development lifecycle.

Causaly’s platform is built on a high-precision biomedical knowledge graph connected to the world’s scientific literature, enabling specialized AI agents to automate research workflows and generate transparent, citation-backed insights across drug discovery and development tasks. Within Syneos Health’s CRO operating model, the platform is designed to give scientific teams immediate access to trusted evidence at the moments that matter most — reducing the time spent manually searching and synthesizing literature and increasing the proportion of time applied to strategic scientific judgment and sponsor deliverables. The integration is part of a broader AI-powered clinical ecosystem Syneos Health announced on August 18, combining scientific expertise, connected data and evidence, and AI-enabled execution across its development and commercial organization.

For CRO clients and their sponsors, the practical output of the partnership is an uplift in the scientific quality and evidence grounding of deliverables generated across Syneos Health’s scientific functions. As sponsors increasingly treat CROs as scientific extensions of their own R&D organizations — rather than transactional service providers — the ability to deliver citation-backed, knowledge-graph-grounded research outputs consistently and at speed becomes a direct competitive differentiator. The partnership positions Causaly’s infrastructure as an operational layer within Syneos Health’s existing scientific expertise, rather than as a replacement for it — with human scientific judgment applied to AI-generated evidence insights rather than to information retrieval itself.

The Causaly partnership is one of several AI ecosystem developments Syneos Health announced simultaneously, alongside collaborations expanding its connected data, evidence integration, and AI-enabled clinical execution capabilities. Causaly has also recently announced partnerships with Microsoft — to connect scientific computation to scientific decision-making — and with Sage, to bring full-text scientific literature into AI-powered drug discovery research, building an interoperable AI ecosystem that CRO partners including Syneos Health can access within their existing workflows.

“The company’s future ready ecosystem calls for the same purpose-built, agentic AI infrastructure we’ve built for big pharma R&D. Together, we are giving their teams a way to operationalize evidence-based research at scale, raise the scientific intensity of every deliverable, and ultimately help bring better therapies to patients faster.”
