- The expansion enhances the company’s cold chain logistics capabilities, including import, export, and specialised packaging services.

Biocair, a global expert in life science logistics, has significantly expanded its Hamburg facility. This enlargement more than doubles the facility’s original size and staff count. The expanded site now offers a broader range of services, including enhanced import, export, pickup, and delivery options.
The facility’s growth includes new temperature-controlled storage solutions, with capabilities ranging from -79°C to +25°C. This upgrade supports Biocair’s specialised packaging service, particularly for shipments requiring dry ice logistics. The investment also includes new refrigeration and freezer units to manage diverse temperature requirements.
Additional staff and new vehicles have been introduced to handle increased demand and complex shipments, such as active pharmaceutical ingredients. These enhancements are aimed at improving the efficiency of Biocair’s cold chain logistics and meeting international shipping and regulatory challenges.
According to René von Holdt of Biocair, “Our local knowledge is second to none, so adding to our specialized cold chain logistics service by increasing our site and numbers of staff is of huge benefit to customers.” The expansion underscores Biocair’s commitment to providing a comprehensive logistics solution, enhancing its support for clients both within Germany and internationally.
