Toray is the manufacturer of fine chemicals with the unique technologies such as isomerization/adsorption separation using zeolites, fermentation and microbiological techniques, optical resolution agents and other organic synthesis. Through these technologies, we produce a variety of chlorinated aromatic compounds, chiral compounds including non-natural D-tartaric acid, L-PTTA and its derivatives, D-alanine, other building blocks mainly used for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. We also produce safe aprotic polarity solvent DMSO which dissolves many organic and inorganic compounds.
