Carrie Cook is Editor of PharmaSource and Conference Producer.
Tell us about your background
I have a background in editorial, copywriting and B2B events, working for various sectors including health, education and finance.
What is your role at the company, and what are your main responsibilities?
I recently joined Life Science Networks as Editor and Conference Producer, creating content for PharmaSource.global and CDMO Live. I will be working on growing our digital footprint through regular, high-quality content and helping to shape the narrative arc of our live events, hopefully bringing in some interesting speakers and session formats to provide valuable takeaways.
How would you describe the company culture here?
My experience with the team so far has been really positive. I’d describe the culture as forward-thinking, flexible and supportive.
What attracted you to working in the life sciences industry?
The world of biopharma interests me because of its profound and often unseen impact on global health and quality of life. The Covid-19 pandemic perhaps made us all a little more aware of the critical role of biotechs and the sheer dedication, innovation and resources required to bring new therapies to patients. I’m really excited to contribute to this ecosystem in some small way; to help support meaningful partnerships and build a valuable platform for the biopharma community.
What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I’m not sure how fun or revelatory this fact is, but I am a bit obsessed with vintage stuff – vintage interiors, vintage fashion, vintage books, vintage magazines – vintage anything really!
