Dora Wells is Editor of PharmaSource and Conference Producer
Can you tell us a little about your background and how you came to join our company?
I studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester, specialising in molecular and cellular biology. After graduating, I spent four years as an Editor, working closely with scientific equipment manufacturers to develop digital content marketing campaigns.
I discovered PharmaSource through LinkedIn and was instantly intrigued — after reaching out to Luke and Chris, we had some great conversations and it quickly became clear that this was a team I wanted to be part of. I’m excited to have joined as Editor and Conference Producer at this fast-growing company.
What is your role at the company, and what are your main responsibilities?
As Editor and Conference Producer, I shape our content across a range of formats including articles, interviews, podcasts, and live events.
My role involves curating insightful discussions and making sure our content is engaging and relevant to the life sciences community.
How would you describe the company culture here?
PharmaSource has a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. The team has been nothing but friendly and supportive so far, and is clearly passionate about the work they do.
It’s the kind of environment where ideas are encouraged and everyone’s contributions are valued—which makes it a great place to grow and get stuck in.
I’m already looking forward to attending our flagship events, CDMO Live, and representing PharmaSource at other industry events.
Can you share a memorable experience you’ve had while working here?
One of the best memories I have had while working here has to be when I was working for our event and seeing it all unfold in front of my eyes was so satisfying. We often work for that one moment of satisfaction and one moment of joy, and this was that for me. I remember logging out that day with a lot of satisfaction in my heart.
What do you like about working in the life sciences industry?
I love the idea that I’m a small cog in a much larger machine that’s constantly innovating and evolving. What motivates me most is knowing that, in some way, my work contributes to the advancement and accessibility of healthcare around the world.
What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I love a pub quiz! For the past couple of years, I’ve been a regular at my local quiz nights. Despite all the time I’ve spent at them, my pop culture and general knowledge still leave something to be desired—but I can hold my own in the science and music rounds.
