Tjoapack Expands Etten-Leur Bottle Packaging with Second GMP Line

COMPANY PROFILE
  • Tjoapack has added a second oral solid dose bottle packaging line at its Etten-Leur facility in the Netherlands.
  • The new Cremer Uhlmann IBC 50 line is designed to increase flexibility, efficiency and GMP-compliant packaging options.

Tjoapack is expanding its oral solid dose (OSD) bottle packaging capabilities at its Etten-Leur facility in the Netherlands with the installation of a second production line. The investment introduces a Cremer Uhlmann IBC 50 line to support pharmaceutical customers requiring flexible and compliant packaging solutions.

The new line automates bottle packaging and can handle any bottle shape, with a throughput of up to 50 bottles per minute. It is GMP-compliant and allows bottles to be packed into cartons with a leaflet, packed with a booklet using a topserter, or wrapped in plastic using a shrink tunnel. These options enable multiple packaging configurations on a single line.

Tjoapack said the expansion is intended to address growing demand for oral solid dose medicines and increasing expectations for adaptable packaging formats. By extending its bottle packaging capabilities, the company aims to support pharmaceutical partners as they scale production and respond to changing market requirements within a CDMO and contract manufacturing framework.

“By introducing a line that supports multiple packaging configurations, we can better align our services with the diverse needs of our customers while maintaining the highest GMP standards.”

Geert Vleugels, General Manager of Tjoapack Netherlands

The company added that the new line will streamline operations at the Etten-Leur site while increasing the range of presentation formats available to clients, supporting greater operational efficiency through faster changeovers and flexible packaging execution.
