Mikart has appointed Darrin T. Schellin as Chief Executive Officer as the clinical and commercial CDMO prepares for its next phase of growth. The company said Schellin will oversee operational performance, customer partnerships, commercial expansion, and continued quality and service excellence. As part of the leadership transition, Michael Kallelis has joined Mikart’s Board of Directors and will remain involved in providing strategic guidance to support continuity for customers, employees, and partners.
Schellin joins Mikart with more than 20 years of executive leadership experience across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract manufacturing sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Pharma Tech Industries, where he led the transformation of the pharmaceutical CDMO’s operations, including the implementation of a KPI-driven operating model across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions. He also previously served as CEO of GBI Bio, where he helped transition the organization from a clinical-stage CDMO to an integrated clinical and commercial biotech CDMO.
“Mikart has a strong history of quality and reliability, and I’m honored to join at this exciting stage,” said Schellin. “With a talented team and strong foundation in place, I look forward to working with our employees, customers, and investors to accelerate growth, strengthen operational excellence, and build on Mikart’s position as a premier clinical and commercial CDMO.”
According to Mikart, Schellin’s experience includes leading organizational growth, operational restructuring, commercial expansion, and long-term value creation. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Alliance Medical Products, Siegfried, and other healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing organizations.
Commenting on the appointment, Scott Neola, Chief Financial Officer of Mikart, said Schellin’s leadership experience and understanding of the CDMO market will support the company’s growth plans, strengthen customer partnerships, and help expand its capabilities while delivering long-term value for customers, employees, and stakeholders.
