eXmoor Pharma and Evox Therapeutics have completed a technology transfer program for Evox’s exosome-enabled gene editing technology and its MSH3-targeted program for the treatment of Huntington’s disease. The program involved transferring and establishing Evox’s proprietary manufacturing process and associated analytical methods at eXmoor’s facility in Bristol. According to the companies, completion of this phase provides the technical foundation for future GMP transfer and clinical manufacturing.
Evox Therapeutics is developing a pipeline of gene editing medicines for genetically driven neurodegenerative diseases, including Huntington’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The companies said exosome-delivered gene editing therapeutics represent an emerging class of biologics, and the completed technology transfer is intended to support the development of scalable manufacturing processes for clinical development. The collaboration highlights the role of CDMO expertise in advancing contract manufacturing capabilities for emerging gene editing therapies.
