ProBioGen and Transgene have expanded their existing collaboration through an additional license agreement covering ProBioGen’s AGE1.CR.pIX® suspension cell line. Transgene, a biotech company developing virus-based immunotherapies for cancer, will use the specialized production technology to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.
The AGE1.CR.pIX suspension cell line platform is designed for vaccine production and supports manufacturing processes that ProBioGen says can provide increased productivity, reliable production, and cost-effective manufacturing. The companies said the expanded collaboration will support manufacturing scalability and optimization.
The platform uses a continuous cell line qualified as a GMP master cell bank and grown in chemically defined, animal-component-free medium. ProBioGen said this provides a characterized starting material for each batch and supports reproducible, scalable processes that can be transferred between manufacturing operations.
“This additional license reflects our confidence in the technology to prepare for future clinical needs at scale.”
