TETRAPHARM has appointed Rolf Sass Sørensen as chief executive officer, effective October 6, 2026. He succeeds Martin Rose, who co-founded the company with Jesper Breum in 2018. Sørensen will work with the board of directors and the organization to lead the company’s continued development, including its drug development programs and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services.

Sørensen brings more than 30 years of experience, including senior roles in investor relations and corporate communications. He previously served as vice president of investor relations and communications at Bavarian Nordic. TETRAPHARM said his experience includes knowledge of the life sciences sector and the relationship between biotechnology companies and capital markets.

The company’s research and development pipeline includes novel drug candidates in preclinical development. Alongside these programs, TETRAPHARM provides CDMO services centered on its proprietary ZYNDIKATE® drug delivery platform, with capabilities in pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery, and manufacturing.

“TETRAPHARM’s combination of science, technology and partnerships provides a compelling foundation. My responsibility, together with the team, is to translate that potential into clear priorities and measurable progress,” Sørensen said. He added that the company would seek to create value through the evidence it generates, projects it delivers, and partnerships it develops.

Rose and Breum are leaving their operational roles to pursue new biotech ventures together but will remain shareholders in TETRAPHARM. Søren Maarssø, chair of the board, recognized the founders’ contributions in establishing the company and said Sørensen brings an understanding of the life sciences sector and the ability to translate scientific opportunities into business priorities.
