This move will increase the company’s unit dose capacity by 180 million units, pushing total production beyond 2.6 billion units. The additional capacity is expected to be operational by the end of the summer.
This expansion is driven by the growing demand for high-quality, sterile unit dose solutions in the ophthalmic and respiratory drug markets. Ritedose’s increased production capabilities will enhance its ability to serve its customers efficiently, ensuring a consistent supply of critical medications. The need for these treatments is on the rise, attributed to the increasing prevalence of respiratory diseases and an aging population requiring advanced eye care solutions.
Ritedose has a proven track record in the BFS sector, having co-developed and commercialized over 80% of new BFS dosage form products introduced in the past decade. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and its role as a trusted partner for pharmaceutical companies.
Ritedose’s recent expansion comes just four months after acquiring 105 acres to support a major 500,000 square foot facility expansion, which is expected to create over 100 new jobs.
