UCB has marked the site dedication for its future biologics manufacturing campus at Rowen in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The ceremony marked the next phase of development for the facility, which the company described as one of the largest life sciences manufacturing investments in Georgia’s history. Attendees included Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, U.S. Department of Commerce Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler, local officials, Belgium’s consul general, and UCB leadership.
The event included a ribbon-cutting and the unveiling of Emmanuel Janssen Circle, a commemorative stonework installation at the entrance to the future campus. The installation honors Emmanuel Janssen, who founded UCB nearly a century ago, and his family. The dedication recognizes the company’s history as it advances plans for its U.S. manufacturing site.
UCB CEO Jean-Christophe Tellier said the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to patients in the United States and is intended to contribute to scientific innovation, skilled employment, and economic growth in Georgia. The company said the campus will strengthen its ability to serve patients while expanding its manufacturing presence in the country.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler, Belgium’s Consul General Katherine Raeymaekers, and Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson also addressed the ceremony. Their remarks highlighted the investment’s role in domestic manufacturing, transatlantic cooperation, local economic development, and the growth of Georgia’s life sciences sector.
The site dedication marks a development milestone for UCB’s planned biologics manufacturing campus. The company said the project builds on its manufacturing investment in the United States and its broader focus on developing treatments for people living with severe diseases.
