Adare Pharma Relocates Headquarters to Pennsylvania

  • Adare Pharma Solutions is relocating its headquarters to Pennsylvania and investing $16.8 million to upgrade its Philadelphia facilities.
  • The expansion will create at least 115 new jobs and retain 200 existing jobs in Pennsylvania.

Adare Pharma Solutions is relocating its headquarters from New Jersey to Pennsylvania, investing $16.8 million to expand and upgrade its two Philadelphia facilities. The move, supported by nearly $3 million in state funding, is expected to create at least 115 new jobs and retain 200 existing positions within three years.

Governor Josh Shapiro announced the investment on August 1, 2024, emphasizing Pennsylvania’s role as a leader in biotech and life sciences. “I’m thrilled that Adare has chosen Pennsylvania for its headquarters and continued growth,” said Governor Shapiro. “Pennsylvania is a leader in biotech and life sciences – with a talented workforce, access to key markets, and significant laboratory infrastructure.”

Adare Pharma Solutions will expand its two manufacturing and packaging facilities in Philadelphia: a 175,000-square-foot facility at 7722 Dungan Road and a 128,000-square-foot facility at 1100 Orthodox Street. The company’s headquarters will be relocated to the Dungan Road location.

Tom Sellig, CEO of Adare Pharma Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the move. “This decision showcases the efforts of both Pennsylvania and Philadelphia in becoming an important life sciences hub for companies like Adare,” he said. “It is crucial for us to have access to a highly skilled talent pool and key markets, and the Philadelphia area provides exactly what we need.”

Adare, a global technology-driven contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), specializes in providing end-to-end integrated services with expertise in oral dosage forms for the pharmaceutical industry. The company operates seven facilities in the U.S. and Europe and has developed and manufactured over 65 products sold worldwide.

Mayor Cherelle L. Parker highlighted the significance of Adare’s expansion for Philadelphia. “This expansion project confirms Philadelphia is a globally recognized innovative hub for life sciences and biotechnology companies. Adare Pharma Solutions is a major asset for our city and the Greater Philadelphia region,” she said.

The relocation and expansion project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, a group of economic development professionals working directly with the Governor to attract businesses to Pennsylvania. This initiative aligns with Governor Shapiro’s ten-year Economic Development Strategy, which aims to boost Pennsylvania’s economy and create opportunities for its residents.
