- Adare Pharma Solutions has completed a 2,800-square-meter expansion of its Pessano facility in Milan, increasing European packaging and warehousing capacity.

Adare Pharma Solutions, a global CDMO specialising in oral dosage forms, has completed a major expansion of its Pessano facility in Milan, Italy. The development enhances European packaging and warehousing capacity and enables customers to bring finished products to market more efficiently. The expansion has received authorisation from AIFA, the Italian medicines agency, and the facility is producing both validation and commercial batches.
The new 2,800-square-meter packaging hall features a Marchesini Integra 220S MA260 blister line with Robocombi ‘pick and place’ and SeaVision serialization capabilities. The line can package tablets and capsules into Aclar, Triplex, PVC, PVDC, and Alu-Alu blisters, with an annual output of more than 50 million units. The facility also includes areas for manual packaging, quality control, in-process testing, and storage of serialized materials.
The expanded warehouse can accommodate over 900 pallets and includes infrastructure for up to four future packaging lines. The Pessano site continues to provide integrated R&D services to support formulation and process development, enabling seamless transition to manufacturing of granules, capsules, and tablets at both clinical and commercial scales. The facility is equipped for controlled substance handling and the use of organic solvents.

Adare’s European expansion complements its packaging infrastructure in the United States. The Philadelphia facility offers bottling, blistering, stick pack, and carton packaging services with integrated serialization and aggregation systems. Together, these sites provide sponsors with end-to-end CDMO support, from feasibility and stability testing to commercial-scale production and packaging.
