Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited has appointed Amrut Medhekar as Chief Executive Officer of its CDMO business, effective August 24, 2024. The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors in a recent meeting.
In his new role, Medhekar will report directly to Sanjeev Jain and Sandeep Jain, the Managing Directors of Akums Drugs. He joins the company with over 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, bringing expertise in strategic planning, profit and loss management, team building, digitization, and budgetary control.
Before joining Akums Drugs, Medhekar served as President of India Business at Wockhardt for more than two years. His previous experience also includes a 13-year tenure with the Zydus Group. Additionally, he has held roles at Novartis, JK Tyre and Industries, LifeMedicare Biotech, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, and Ranbaxy. Medhekar holds a Master’s in Business Administration in Marketing from Jiwaji University.
