Altasciences has announced an expansion of its North American bioanalytical laboratory network with new facilities in Canada and the United States. The investment includes a 4,000-square-foot addition to its Greater Montréal laboratory, expected to be operational by the end of the third quarter of 2026, and a 13,000-square-foot purpose-built laboratory in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, with the first phase scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027. The expansion is intended to increase capacity for late-stage clinical bioanalysis and support more complex drug development programs.
The expanded laboratories will increase Altasciences’ capacity to conduct larger studies and process higher sample volumes while incorporating advanced laboratory automation and instrumentation for pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assay method development, validation, and sample analysis throughout the clinical phases of drug development. According to the company, the additional capacity is designed to reduce turnaround times and enable sponsors to access bioanalytical data more quickly.

The expansion strengthens Altasciences’ bioanalytical network, which also includes laboratories in Seattle, Washington, and Columbia, Missouri. The company said all laboratories operate using harmonized quality systems, scientific workflows, instrumentation platforms, and operational processes, allowing sponsors to scale programs across locations while maintaining consistent bioanalytical data.
According to Altasciences, the investment supports its integrated drug development platform by expanding laboratory capacity, automation, and scientific expertise to help sponsors advance drug development programs.
