ASP Isotopes and Isotopia Partner on Gd-160 Supply for Targeted Radiotherapy

• ASP Isotopes signs four-year agreement to supply enriched Gadolinium-160 to Isotopia.

ASP Isotopes Inc. has entered a four-year supply agreement with Isotopia Molecular Imaging Ltd. for the provision of enriched Gadolinium-160 (Gd-160), a precursor isotope essential in the production of Terbium-161 (Tb-161), an emerging radiotherapeutic isotope.

The contract, which begins in 2026, is valued at a minimum of $1 million per annum and aims to address global shortages of Gd-160. The isotope plays a critical role in the development of targeted therapies for conditions such as prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumours.

Under the terms of the deal, ASP Isotopes, a company specialising in isotope enrichment technologies, will supply the material using its proprietary Quantum Enrichment process. The enriched Gd-160 will support Isotopia’s production of Tb-161, which has been in weekly clinical trial supply for two years and is produced at sites in Israel and, soon, Indianapolis in the US.

The partnership draws on ASP Isotopes’ prior enrichment work with Ytterbium-176, while leveraging Isotopia’s established track record in radiopharmaceutical manufacturing. Paul Mann, CEO of ASP Isotopes, stated: “By supplying Gd-160, we are eliminating a major bottleneck in the development of Tb-161 therapies.”

Gd-160 enrichment will take place at a large-scale facility currently being designed by the company. This Quantum Enrichment plant will also be used for other isotopes, including Nickel-64, Zinc-68, and Lithium 6/7.

The agreement comes amid increasing interest in radiopharmaceuticals, with Tb-161 gaining attention for its potential advantages over other isotopes due to its Auger electron emissions, which can precisely target micro-metastases.
