Avid Bioservices Inc., a biologics contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has appointed Kenneth Bilenberg as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will take over from Nick Green, who is stepping down for health reasons after leading the company through a period of growth.
Bilenberg has more than two decades of industry experience. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Fujifilm Biotechnologies, where he oversaw large-scale biologics operations. His earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Novo Nordisk. Currently based in Denmark, he will relocate to California within six months.
Green commented on the leadership transition: “Throughout this process, it was important to me to help identify the right leader to advance Avid into its next chapter. In Kenneth, we found someone with key industry experience as well as a strong vision and a true appreciation for Avid’s culture.”
In his first statement as CEO, Bilenberg highlighted Avid’s reputation for quality and regulatory performance. He outlined priorities including reliable delivery for existing clients, supporting biopharma reshoring strategies, and expanding capacity to meet global demand.
The company said it aims to build on its existing foundation and strengthen its position as a trusted contract manufacturing partner for advancing biologics to patients worldwide.
