Biodextris, a Laval, Quebec-based biologics contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has appointed Clement Fourny as its Chief Executive Officer. The company said Fourny will lead its next phase of growth, building on its work with complex biologics and biopharma clients across North America.
Fourny most recently served as Senior Vice President, Commercial at SmartLabs in Boston. In that role, he led the commercial organization and launched a Custom Solutions division, which secured laboratory partnerships with biopharma companies across North America. Before joining SmartLabs, he was General Manager, Commercial Operations & Strategy at Cytiva, formerly GE Healthcare Life Sciences, where he developed experience in the CDMO and biologics manufacturing sector.
According to Biodextris, Fourny’s appointment follows the company’s evolution from its origins as a GSK biologics development center into a flexible and scalable GMP bio-manufacturing organization. The company said his experience in go-to-market strategy, global account management, commercial operations and organizational transformation will support its efforts to address demand for specialized biologics manufacturing services.
The company said Fourny’s leadership will also build on Biodextris’ track record of working with biopharma clients across North America. Biodextris did not disclose additional details about the terms of his appointment in the provided announcement.
