Cellipont Bioservices, a cell therapy Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), has named Darren Head as its new Chief Executive Officer. Head, who also serves as Chairman of the Board, brings over 26 years of experience in biopharmaceutical leadership and manufacturing, including key roles in the CDMO sector. His appointment signals the company’s commitment to advancing its operations and expanding its role in delivering cell therapies to the market.
This leadership change comes at a pivotal time for Cellipont, which continues to strengthen its capabilities. Head’s prior experience includes CEO roles at Bionova Scientific, MaSTherCell, and Cytovance Biologics. He has also held significant leadership positions at Immucor and Aronex Pharmaceuticals, where he managed operations in late-stage clinical programs. According to Noah Rhodes, a Cellipont board member and Head of Private Equity at Great Point Partners (GPP), Head’s deep understanding of the business and track record make him well-suited to drive Cellipont’s growth.

Alongside Head’s appointment, Cellipont announced a minority growth equity investment from HealthQuest Capital, a move that will help fuel its expansion. GPP, Cellipont’s majority investor, also participated in the funding round. HealthQuest Capital’s partner, Dr. Conrad Wang, has joined the Cellipont board and expressed confidence in supporting the company’s growth strategy.
