- Celonic AG and Leukocare AG have entered into a collaboration to support the development of complex biologics by combining biologics CDMO, contract manufacturing, and drug product development expertise.
- The partnership will support selected client programs involving bispecific antibodies, multispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, and high-concentration formulations from preclinical development through commercialization.
Celonic AG, a Swiss-based biologics CDMO, and Leukocare AG have announced a collaboration to support biopharmaceutical companies developing complex biologics. The partnership combines Celonic’s expertise in cell line development, process development, intensified bioprocessing, GMP manufacturing, and contract manufacturing with Leukocare’s data science-driven drug product development capabilities.
The collaboration will support selected client programs involving bispecific antibodies, multispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, and high-concentration formulations. According to the companies, the combined approach integrates formulation strategy, molecular characteristics, manufacturability, and process development to help establish development strategies from preclinical development through commercialization.
Celonic said its capabilities include cell line development, process optimization, and clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing supported by its CHOvolution® GS CHO-K1 platform. The company also applies intensified and perfusion bioprocessing approaches designed to improve productivity and manufacturing performance for complex biologics. Leukocare contributes expertise in molecular modeling, predictive analytics, formulation development, analytical characterization, stability studies, technology transfer, and CMC support.
“Our collaboration highlights the decisive role of formulation in enabling complex biologics to reach the clinic. By combining Celonic’s CHO-based development, intensified and perfusion bioprocessing, and GMP manufacturing capabilities with Leukocare’s unique development expertise, we create measurable value for clients developing complex molecules, bispecifics, and high-concentration drug products.”
Samanta Cimitan, CEO of Celonic AG
According to the companies, the collaboration is intended to help clients make development decisions earlier, reduce technical risk, and support the development of drug products optimized for stability, manufacturability, scalable production, and patient-friendly administration.
