CG MedTech Signs CDMO Agreement With Kolon Pharma for hECM Tissue Products

COMPANY PROFILE
  • CG MedTech has signed a CDMO agreement with Kolon Pharma covering the development, manufacturing and supply of hECM-based human tissue products for use as skin boosters.
  • The partnership marks the first commercialization of CG MedTech’s human tissue CDMO platform for an external customer and expands its human tissue business beyond internal operations.

CG MedTech has entered into a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) agreement with Kolon Pharma for human extracellular matrix (hECM)-based human tissue products. The agreement covers the development, manufacturing and supply of products intended for use as skin boosters and marks the launch of CG MedTech’s external CDMO business in the human tissue sector.

Under the terms of the agreement, CG MedTech will provide product development, manufacturing, quality control, regulatory support and supply management services. Kolon Pharma will be responsible for sales and distribution to clinics and hospitals in South Korea. The companies said they may expand the collaboration over time through increased supply volumes and the development of additional products, depending on market demand and business performance.

The partnership represents the first commercialization of CG MedTech’s human tissue CDMO platform for an external client. The company said the agreement extends its human tissue business value chain beyond its own operations and supports its strategy to grow its presence in the sector.

CG MedTech noted that it has been expanding its human tissue capabilities, including through the acquisition of a tissue-processing bank in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. According to the company, it has established an integrated value chain covering raw material procurement, product development, manufacturing, quality control, regulatory affairs and supply.

“This agreement marks the first extension of our human tissue-based business value chain to an external client and an important milestone in the launch of our human tissue CDMO platform business.”
