Charles River Laboratories International and Autolomous have introduced Apollo Orchestrate, a new capability within Charles River’s Apollo platform designed to connect and digitize laboratory execution. The capability is built on Autolomous’ autoloMATE digital Laboratory Execution System (LES) and will support quality control (QC) testing within the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) setting.
Apollo Orchestrate will be deployed at Charles River Biologics Testing Solutions sites across North America and Europe. Its electronic execution record and workflow-automation capabilities connect Charles River’s laboratory systems, including Apollo and LabWare LIMS, providing digital traceability from sample submission through laboratory execution to release.
The system connects sample submission, laboratory execution and review within a single digital workflow, moving records from paper to digital. According to the companies, the approach is intended to minimize manual processes, improve data accuracy, accelerate execution and review, and allow technical and quality assurance teams to spend less time on administrative review.
The initial deployment will focus on GMP QC testing and is intended to establish a standardized operating model that can be expanded across Biologics Testing Solutions sites following the initial go-live. The companies said the capability is also designed to provide a path toward greater client visibility over time.
“Aligned with our modernization strategy, it is crucial that we evolve quickly to enhance efficiencies and ensure medicines reach patients swiftly and safely. The launch of Apollo Orchestrate, built on Autolomous’ autoloMATE platform, will increase efficiency while providing greater transparency and collaboration for our clients, both of which are key to our strategic goals.”
