Chime Biologics and Daewoong Pharmaceutical have entered a strategic partnership agreement to develop and manufacture a dupilumab biosimilar candidate referencing Dupixent. The collaboration marks Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s entry into the biosimilar sector and is intended to support the company’s long-term growth strategy in global biologics markets.
Under the agreement, Chime Biologics will provide development and manufacturing support through its end-to-end biologics platform. The CDMO said it will utilize its AI-enabled development platform, known as the Chime AI Platform, along with its China-based supply chain ecosystem, the Chime Innovation Alliance, to support the program. The companies stated that the partnership aims to deliver high-quality and accessible biologic medicines to patients worldwide.
The biosimilar candidate references Dupixent, a biologic co-developed by Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and other Type 2 inflammatory diseases. According to the companies, the program targets a growing global immunology market. Industry estimates cited in the announcement indicate that Dupixent generated approximately $17.8 billion in global sales in 2025.
“Daewoong Pharmaceutical is committed to building a globally competitive biosimilar business as part of our future growth strategy. Starting with dupilumab, we aim to establish a differentiated biosimilar portfolio for global markets.”
Seongsoo Park, Chief Executive Officer of Daewoong Pharmaceutical
The companies said the agreement combines Chime Biologics’ biologics development and contract manufacturing capabilities with Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s biosimilar ambitions. They added that the collaboration could serve as a foundation for future biosimilar development partnerships as the global biosimilars market continues to expand.
