Curia Global, Inc. (Curia), a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), is making a strategic investment to expand sterile API manufacturing capabilities at its Valladolid, Spain site. The expansion will cover both steroid and non-steroid products and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The expanded capabilities will combine Curia’s sterility assurance and solid-state engineering expertise, including aseptic crystallization, milling and micronization. The company said the expansion will enhance support for injectable suspensions and other complex sterile formulations.
The facility will use closed systems with barrier isolators for primary containment during sterile API handling. Integrated service panels are designed to minimize operator interaction. The expanded capabilities will also support manufacturing scales ranging from grams to metric tons, with customizable aseptic packaging configurations intended to preserve sterility assurance, reduce handoffs and mitigate contamination risk during transfer and storage.

The expansion follows Curia’s $4 million upgrade of its API aseptic suites in Valladolid, completed in May. The company said the upgrade further strengthened its integrated R&D, analytical and manufacturing services.
