DINAMIQS Opens New R&D Laboratories in Zurich to Support Cell and Gene Therapies

  • DINAMIQS, a Siegfried company, has inaugurated new R&D laboratories in Zurich’s Bio-Technopark to enhance its viral vector design and manufacturing capabilities.
  • The new facilities, which include pilot-scale equipment, will support clinical viral vector development and manufacturing, with plans for a cGMP facility by 2025.

DINAMIQS, part of the Siegfried group, has inaugurated advanced research and development laboratories in Zurich, Switzerland. The newly expanded facilities aim to bolster the company’s offering in the fast-growing cell and gene therapy market. These laboratories will house cutting-edge technologies for viral vector process development, critical for the advancement of gene therapies.

Located at Zurich’s Bio-Technopark, the new lab features high-end pilot-scale equipment. This enables DINAMIQS to offer comprehensive clinical viral vector development, analytical services, and manufacturing solutions to its growing list of clients. The facility is a key part of the company’s broader strategy to serve the needs of the cell and gene therapy sectors, which are seeing rapid expansion.

The new lab will complement DINAMIQS’s ongoing development of a cGMP manufacturing facility in Switzerland. The facility, set to be operational by the end of 2025, will provide up to 1,000L production capacity for viral vectors used in research, clinical trials, and commercial applications.

“This new lab facility marks a crucial milestone in our journey to become a leader in the cell and gene therapy CDMO space,” said Marcel Imwinkelried, CEO of Siegfried. “The expansion is in line with our EVOLVE+ strategy, and we’re making significant progress toward scaling our capabilities.”

The facility is designed to provide end-to-end services for viral vector projects, from genome optimization to GMP scale-up, offering clients an integrated approach for their process development and manufacturing needs. Martin Kessler, CEO of DINAMIQS, highlighted the importance of the new labs, stating, “Our expanded Swiss labs now allow us to deliver all services under one roof, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions for our clients.”
