eXoZymes Partners With Curia for NCT Technology Transfer and Scale-Up

COMPANY PROFILE
  • eXoZymes Inc. has entered into an agreement with Curia Global to begin technology transfer and scale-up activities for N-trans-caffeoyltyramine (NCT).
  • The program will transfer eXoZymes’ NCT manufacturing process to Curia facilities in León, Spain, and Rozzano, Italy, with work expected to progress during Q4 2026 and support larger-scale production in 2027.

eXoZymes Inc. has entered into an agreement with Curia Global to advance the technology transfer and scale-up of its manufacturing process for N-trans-caffeoyltyramine (NCT). The agreement is intended to move the process from pilot-scale validation toward commercial manufacturing and establish the manufacturing pathway and supply chain needed to support the planned commercial launch of NCT.

Under the program, eXoZymes will transfer its NCT manufacturing process to Curia, a contract manufacturing company, for scale-up at facilities in León, Spain, and Rozzano, Italy. The work will include cross-validation of eXoZymes’ enzyme fermentation, cell-free reaction and purification processes at larger scales. It will also include process modeling and engineering analysis to define a recommended path toward larger-scale manufacturing.

The company said it has previously demonstrated the NCT process at pilot scale and improved its productivity and economics. The technology transfer will cover the integrated process, from enzyme production through the cell-free NCT reaction and product purification, in a commercial manufacturing environment.

The program is expected to progress during the fourth quarter of 2026. It is designed to establish a technical roadmap for subsequent larger-scale NCT production in 2027. The work is also intended to support commercial customer qualification and future supply agreements.

“We are advancing the work required to establish the manufacturing pathway and supply chain to support NCT’s planned commercial launch. The Curia engagement establishes the manufacturing foundation for commercial customer qualification, future supply agreements, and the planned market introduction of NCT.”
