- FamiCord AG, through its Polish subsidiary PBKM, has entered into a framework collaboration agreement with ArThec S.A. to develop tissue-engineering technology for regenerative medicine applications.
ArThec has entered into a collaboration with FamiCord Group through its subsidiary Polski Bank Komórek Macierzystych (PBKM) to support the next stage of Project Pearl, a regenerative medicine program focused on cartilage repair and joint regeneration.
According to the companies, the collaboration follows the completion of a partner selection process and is intended to advance the development of the PEARL tissue-engineering platform toward future clinical application. The project centers on a novel regenerative medicine approach for cartilage repair and joint regeneration.
As part of the next phase, the partners will undertake process development, analytical method development, establishment of control strategies, and preparation of the technology for transfer into a GMP manufacturing environment. These activities are intended to support the future clinical development of the platform.
The companies stated that the collaboration brings together expertise in tissue engineering, advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP) development, process development, and advanced therapy manufacturing. The combined capabilities are intended to support the continued advancement of Project Pearl.
