Hanmi Pharmaceutical Expands with Countmate, a Fully Automated Vial Dispenser

Hanmi Pharmaceutical has announced the launch of Countmate, a fully automated vial dispensing machine designed for the US and Canadian markets. The system aims to enhance pharmacy operations by automating the drug counting, labeling, and dispensing process. Unlike Korea, where pouch packaging is common, North America primarily relies on vial-based dispensing. By introducing Countmate, Hanmi aims to expand its market presence and drive global sales growth.

Countmate integrates multiple advanced features, including front-mounted canisters for automated drug counting, an orthogonal robot for precise vial labeling, and image verification for quality control. Configurable with 84 or 168 canisters, it can process up to 160 prescriptions per hour. Additional features include automatic vial sorting, a compact design for space efficiency, and low-noise operation.

A representative from Hanmi’s Global Business Division emphasized the significance of Countmate in addressing the unique pharmaceutical needs of the North American market. The company expects its technological capabilities and collaboration with McKesson to support a strong market entry.
