Insilico Medicine and Bora Pharmaceuticals have announced a proposed multi-target strategic alliance to combine artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery with global pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality, and commercialization capabilities. The collaboration is intended to integrate Insilico’s Pharma.AI platform with Bora’s global development and manufacturing infrastructure to support the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel medicines. The proposed alliance will be subject to definitive agreements between the companies.
Under the proposed collaboration, Insilico will contribute its Pharma.AI platform, which supports target discovery, generative chemistry, and molecule optimization, while Bora will provide expertise in drug development, chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), regulatory development, contract manufacturing, quality systems, supply chain, and commercialization. The companies said they also plan to explore the use of AI and automation to improve manufacturing, supply chain operations, quality systems, and corporate functions.
“This strategic alliance marks an important step in Bora’s evolution from a leading pharmaceutical development and manufacturing partner into a broader drug innovation ecosystem.”
Bobby Sheng, founder, Chairman of Bora Group and CEO of Bora Pharmaceuticals
The proposed alliance establishes a framework for a broader multi-target collaboration that, if fully implemented, could exceed US$2.5 billion in potential value. Insilico also expects to support Bora in strengthening AI capabilities across its global workforce and expanding the use of AI across research, development, and operational activities. The companies said the scope and operating framework of the collaboration will be refined as discussions progress.
The collaboration reflects a shared objective to combine AI-enabled drug discovery with development and CDMO manufacturing capabilities to support the development of new medicines. Insilico stated that its AI platform has nominated 31 preclinical candidates since 2021, with 13 receiving investigational new drug (IND) approval or clearance, while Bora will contribute its global manufacturing and commercialization capabilities.
