KBI Biopharma Extends $250M Contract with Global Pharma Leader

• KBI Biopharma extends manufacturing contract through 2029 with a $250 million purchase commitment.

KBI Biopharma Inc., a JSR Life Sciences company and global cGMP contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has extended and expanded its manufacturing contract with a leading global pharmaceutical company. The renewed contract, originally initiated in 2020, now extends through 2029 and includes a purchase commitment for two therapeutic products, valued at approximately $250 million.

In late June, KBI Biopharma successfully completed a regulatory inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of its mammalian operation in Durham, North Carolina. This inspection underscores the company’s compliance with regulatory standards and its commitment to quality.
