Kincell Bio has announced the promotion of Lawrence “Larry” Pitcher to Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Pitcher succeeds Mark R. Bamforth OBE, who will continue to support the company as Executive Chair of the Board following a transition period.
The appointment comes after a period of expansion for the cell therapy CDMO during 2025, which included the addition of new clients at its facilities and the advancement of existing client programmes into pivotal clinical studies. Pitcher joined the company as Chief Operating Officer in March 2025 and has been involved in expanding production capabilities, processes and systems to support late-stage and commercial cell therapy manufacturing.
Prior to joining Kincell Bio, Pitcher held senior leadership roles across the life sciences sector, including Vice President and General Manager at Catalent’s Maryland gene therapy site. His earlier experience includes positions at Thermo Fisher, Brammer Bio and RTI Surgical in Europe and the United States, where he focused on operational scale-up and manufacturing performance.
Kincell Bio operates cGMP manufacturing facilities in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and Gainesville, Florida, providing contract manufacturing and development services for cell therapy programmes. The company supports clients from early development through pivotal trials and commercial launch with process development, analytical services and manufacturing capabilities.
