Laurus Labs has inaugurated its latest research and development (R&D) facility at IKP Knowledge Park in Hyderabad. The new centre represents an investment of Rs 250 crore and is designed to bolster the company’s contract drug manufacturing organisation (CDMO) operations.
The 2,00,000 square foot facility is equipped with advanced laboratories and infrastructure. It will significantly contribute to Laurus Labs’ CDMO business, offering clinical phase drug development and commercial manufacturing services. The centre is expected to provide employment for over 800 individuals.
Satyanarayana Chava, founder and CEO of Laurus Labs, remarked, “This will be our 5th R&D centre. We believe that this facility will enable us to develop groundbreaking solutions that will address unmet medical needs.”
The expansion aligns with Laurus Labs’ strategy to enhance its capabilities in active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations. With revenues of Rs 6041 crore in FY24, Laurus Labs is a key player in the production of anti-retroviral and oncology APIs. The investment reflects the company’s commitment to advancing its CDMO business and supporting global innovators.
