Locus Cell Co., Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding with Charles River Laboratories to explore collaboration supporting the development of advanced therapies in the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement was announced during the APAC Biomanufacturing Leadership Summit 2026 in Singapore.
Under the MoU, the two companies will evaluate opportunities for cooperation in areas including CMC support, analytical testing, technical development, and related services. The collaboration is intended to support cell and gene therapy developers operating in Taiwan and across the broader APAC market.
Locus Cell operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on cell and gene therapy manufacturing. Charles River Laboratories is a contract research organization (CRO) that provides drug development support and biologics testing services. The companies said the partnership could combine Locus Cell’s manufacturing capabilities with Charles River’s analytical and testing expertise.

Locus Cell is developing a digital-native cell therapy manufacturing facility in Zhubei, Taiwan, designed to integrate digital manufacturing systems and automation under PIC/S GMP standards. The companies stated that the collaboration framework will guide further discussions on service integration and potential joint support for developers working on advanced therapies in the region.
