LTS Partners with GRAM for Sterile Fill Finish in Sorrel™ Devices

  • LTS and GRAM form a strategic alliance for sterile fill finish in wearable injector devices.
  • The collaboration aims to streamline development and manufacturing, ensuring faster market access for biologics.

LTS LOHMANN Therapie-Systeme AG (LTS) and Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM) have announced a strategic alliance to focus on the sterile fill finish of containers used in LTS’s Sorrel™ wearable injector devices. This partnership offers pharmaceutical companies a comprehensive solution for the development and manufacturing of wearable injectors designed for biologics, promising an integrated approach from concept to completion.

The collaboration between LTS and GRAM aims to facilitate faster market access and streamline production processes for the Sorrel™ wearable injector, an on-body delivery system designed for large-volume and viscous drug formulations. The Sorrel™ technology supports multiple drugs and indications, ensuring smart, reliable at-home delivery that reduces development risks, including safety, efficacy, cost, and time-to-market.

GRAM brings its expertise in aseptic filling and finishing, particularly for injectable biologics. With capabilities spanning sterile production, regulatory guidance, and scalable manufacturing solutions, GRAM can handle the complex requirements of specialized containers such as cartridges and wearable injectors.

Pharmaceutical companies will benefit from this strategic collaboration, which combines LTS’s innovative device solutions with GRAM’s specialized aseptic manufacturing capabilities. This partnership is designed to streamline product development, commercialization, and delivery of Sorrel™ devices.

“We see a very synergistic alliance between LTS and GRAM, creating a mutually beneficial collaboration that particularly supports our customers’ journey from molecule to market,” said Dr. Andrei Yosef, President and General Manager of LTS Device Technologies. “The combination of GRAM’s fill-finish expertise with LTS’s proprietary Sorrel™ drug delivery technology will deliver a streamlined solution that meets the unique needs of our customers.”

Dave Powell, Vice President of Business Development at Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, added, “We are excited to embark on this collaboration with LTS, as on-body wearable injectors are crucial for advancing patient care. This collaboration leverages our dedicated efforts, combining GRAM’s specialized aseptic manufacturing capabilities with LTS’s innovative device technology. Together, we are not only advancing the technology but also enhancing patient care by making sophisticated treatments more accessible and easier to use.”
