- The 4,270 m² unit strengthens the company’s end-to-end CDMO offering for oncology innovators from preclinical development to commercial production.
Lupin Manufacturing Solutions (LMS), a subsidiary of Lupin Limited, has commissioned a dedicated Oncology Block at its Vizag site in India. The new high-containment unit expands the company’s contract development and manufacturing capabilities for high-potent active pharmaceutical ingredients across the oncology lifecycle.
The 4,270 square metre facility includes 20 reactors ranging from 250 litres to 2000 litres, more than 20 isolators, and containment systems designed for exposure levels of ≤0.05 µg/m³. It offers flexible scale-up from 1 to 35 kg batches and features environmental controls of ≤25°C and ≤45% relative humidity to support compliant production of oncology APIs.

The unit brings together a Process Development Laboratory and a dedicated Quality Control laboratory, enabling route scouting, analytical development, process optimisation, and validation at a single location. Supported by scientists with HPAPI expertise, it provides a seamless transition from laboratory to commercial scale.
LMS states that the enhanced capability strengthens its position as a CDMO partner in oncology by combining advanced containment systems, regulatory compliance, and scientific expertise to support efficient development and manufacturing of oncology treatments for global clients.
