Novo Nordisk has announced a partnership with BE&K Building Group to manage the construction of a new multi-product facility in Clayton, North Carolina. This significant development will expand Novo Nordisk’s existing operations in the area.

The project entails the construction of over ten buildings, covering more than 1.4 million square feet across approximately 56 acres. BE&K will serve as the Construction Manager, directly handling a significant portion of the work, while also acting as the Agency Construction Manager for the rest of the project.

The new facility will be crucial in manufacturing treatments for obesity and other chronic diseases, aligning with Novo Nordisk’s mission to address these health challenges. “Clayton was the first manufacturing site for Novo Nordisk in the US, and this new, large-scale investment here confirms the continued importance of our production facilities in North Carolina,” said Niels Laurbjerg Nielsen, Corporate Vice President of Novo Nordisk. He added, “We are proud to be one of the cornerstones of our company’s growth.”

Construction of the facility is scheduled to be completed in phases, with finalization expected between 2027 and 2029.
