NueCell Bio has launched as a cell therapy science and development services company focused on advancing cell-based therapies from scientific discovery through clinical readiness. Headquartered in San Diego, California, the company will provide translational development services, process development, analytics, and manufacturing-enabling capabilities to support developers of cell therapies. Its operations are based in a 26,300-square-foot facility in the Sorrento Valley biotechnology hub.
The company said its modular development approach is designed to help developers engineer cells, establish scalable GMP-ready manufacturing processes, and develop analytical methods for a range of therapies. Its services support CAR-T therapies, stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived therapies, gene-edited cells, and tissue repair platforms across both autologous and allogeneic products.

According to the company, its scientific, analytical, process development, and manufacturing capabilities are intended to help developers address the challenges of scaling cell therapies for clinical manufacturing and commercialization. NueCell Bio said its services are aimed at supporting programs in cancer, immune-mediated diseases, tissue repair and regeneration, and other therapeutic areas.
The company is led by a team with experience in advanced therapies and is supported by a Scientific Advisory Board that includes Dr. Bruce Levine and Dr. Gabor Veres. NueCell Bio also noted that Kineticos Life Sciences served as exclusive advisor and Goodwin Procter LLP acted as legal counsel in connection with the transaction related to its launch.
