Ori Biotech Launches Preferred Partner Network to Advance Cell Therapy Manufacturing

  • Ori Biotech Ltd. has launched its Preferred Partner Network (PPN) to enhance collaboration between academic medical centers (AMCs) and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) for cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing.
  • Founding PPN members include Charles River Laboratories, CTMC, ElevateBio, and Kincell, with partners gaining access to Ori’s IRO platform to streamline cell therapy production.

Ori Biotech Ltd. has announced the launch of its Preferred Partner Network (PPN), bringing together top-tier academic medical centers (AMCs) and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) to advance cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing. The network aims to provide best-in-class solutions to accelerate therapy development and commercialization.

The founding U.S. members of the PPN include Charles River Laboratories, CTMC (a joint venture between MD Anderson Cancer Center and Resilience), ElevateBio, and Kincell. Additional partners are expected to be disclosed in the future. Membership in the PPN offers service providers access to Ori’s IRO® platform, which has been designed to increase throughput, reduce costs of goods (COGs), and improve manufacturing efficiency.

“By partnering with the top academic institutions and CDMOs globally, Ori is helping to deliver proven solutions that speed time to clinic, reduce comparability risk, and shorten development timelines,” said Jason C. Foster, CEO of Ori Biotech. “The PPN enhances the flexibility of therapy developers to choose both best-of-breed technologies and service providers to deliver on their program goals.”

The IRO platform enables integration with upstream and downstream technologies, supporting a closed and streamlined workflow for clinical and commercial manufacturing. The PPN launch follows Ori’s recent technology partnership with Fresenius Kabi, further strengthening its ability to support therapy developers worldwide.

Matthew Hewitt, B.A. PhD, Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, Manufacturing Business Division, Charles River, stated, “Ori’s mission aligns closely with ours—accelerating the delivery of life-saving therapies to patients. By becoming part of Ori’s Preferred Partner Network, we can contribute to advancing the adoption of cutting-edge closed and automated platforms, ultimately helping to resolve manufacturing bottlenecks in the advanced therapies sector.”

Jason Bock, CEO of CTMC, emphasized, “CTMC offers comprehensive solutions to academic and biotech partners, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to clinic. By incorporating the automated capabilities of Ori Biotech’s IRO® platform, we strengthen our technology offerings, streamline cell therapy manufacturing, and accelerate the journey to patients.”

Michael Paglia, Chief Technology Officer, ElevateBio BaseCamp, noted, “At ElevateBio, we continually assess innovative technologies that enhance process efficiencies and align with the highly digital infrastructure we’ve built to scale across our facilities. Through the Ori Preferred Partner Network, we can provide our partners with essential technologies and services to fast-track development, manufacturing, and commercialization.”

Bruce Thompson, PhD, Chief Technology Officer, Kincell Bio, highlighted, “As the cell therapy industry evolves, pioneering technologies that simplify manufacturing and lower production costs will be key to ensuring widespread access to these life-saving treatments. Kincell Bio is excited to collaborate with Ori Biotech as they introduce the IRO® platform, supporting our partners and clients in bringing their cell therapy products to patients in need.”
