- OXB has signed an agreement with Plowshare Therapies to provide AAV process development and GMP manufacturing services for a rare disease gene therapy program.
- The work will be carried out at OXB’s FDA-approved viral vector manufacturing facility in Durham, North Carolina, with the potential to expand to additional programs and later-stage manufacturing.
OXB, a cell and gene therapy CDMO, has entered into an agreement with Plowshare Therapies to provide adeno-associated virus (AAV) process development and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing services for the biotechnology company’s rare disease gene therapy program. The agreement also provides the potential for OXB to support additional programs and later-stage contract manufacturing as Plowshare’s pipeline progresses.
The program will be supported from OXB’s FDA-approved commercial-scale viral vector manufacturing facility in Durham, North Carolina. According to the company, the collaboration reinforces the site’s role within OXB’s global AAV manufacturing network and reflects continued demand for its viral vector development and manufacturing capabilities following the site’s acquisition in October 2025.
“This latest partnership demonstrates the strategic value of our expanded US manufacturing network and reflects the increasing momentum we are seeing across our AAV business since the acquisition. By combining our deep expertise in viral vector development and GMP manufacturing with Plowshare’s innovative rare disease programme, we look forward to supporting the advancement of potentially transformative therapies for patients with significant unmet medical needs.”
Dr. Sébastien Ribault, Chief Business Officer of OXB
The companies said the partnership is based on a shared commitment to advancing gene therapies for patients with rare genetic diseases. OXB will leverage its viral vector development and manufacturing experience to support Plowshare’s therapeutic program, while the collaboration is intended to support future manufacturing needs as Plowshare advances its pipeline.
