Prange Pharma has completed the acquisition of the MSD Animal Health manufacturing site in Aprilia, Italy, and will operate it under the new name Aprilia Animal Health. The move establishes a European platform for contract manufacturing in the animal health sector.
The transaction forms part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe and strengthen its manufacturing capabilities in veterinary pharmaceuticals. The Aprilia site includes sterile and non-sterile production as well as specialized product categories, positioning it to support global customers through CDMO and contract manufacturing services.
As part of the agreement, Prange Pharma and MSD Animal Health have entered into a long-term supply partnership. This arrangement is intended to ensure continuity for existing products and provide a seamless transition for customers following the change in ownership.
The Aprilia facility brings more than 65 years of manufacturing experience and an established workforce. The site is expected to continue supplying veterinary pharmaceuticals while also creating opportunities for third-party CDMO business within the animal health market.
