Prestige Biopharma Limited has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Charles River Laboratories International to collaborate on the development, testing, analysis, and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. The agreement combines the companies’ capabilities to support the development and commercialization of biosimilars and novel biologics.

Under the collaboration, Charles River will contribute expertise in preclinical and analytical services, while Prestige Biopharma Group will provide antibody therapeutic development and CDMO capabilities. The partnership will cover the drug development lifecycle, including analytical method development and validation, quality control and batch release testing, biosafety and viral safety assessments, GLP-compliant toxicology studies, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic research, process development, and GMP contract manufacturing.

The companies also plan to establish a joint business development strategy. Charles River will refer clients requiring biopharmaceutical process development and GMP manufacturing to Prestige Biopharma, while Prestige Biopharma will direct clients requiring early-stage discovery, preclinical toxicology, and bioanalytical services to Charles River. In addition, the companies intend to expand their global presence through joint marketing initiatives, industry conference participation, seminars, and technical publications.

“This collaboration with Charles River, a global leader in preclinical and testing services, marks a pivotal milestone in directly connecting our antibody development and manufacturing expertise with a broader global client network,” said a spokesperson for Prestige Biopharma.

Prestige Biopharma said the collaboration supports its strategy of expanding its biosimilars, novel drug development, and CDMO businesses while strengthening its global presence in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
