ProBioGen Expands Berlin Headquarters, Enhancing Protein and Virus Manufacturing Capabilities

ProBioGen, a biopharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has announced the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities at its Berlin headquarters. The company has commissioned a new 1000L-scale GMP production line for proteins and completed the construction phase of its virus manufacturing unit.

The expansion in protein manufacturing aims to meet the growing global demand for biologics. ProBioGen utilises its CHO.RiGHT platform and proprietary technologies such as the DirectedLuck transposase and GlymaxX for antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) enhancement. These advancements bolster the company’s ability to support partners from cell line development to commercial manufacturing.

In the viral vector space, the company has strengthened its expertise by developing proprietary platforms for lentiviral (LV) and adeno-associated virus (AAV) production. ProBioGen offers tailored solutions, including stable cell line development and process optimisation, to address the complexities of emerging therapeutic platforms.
