ProBioGen Partners with VarmX to Develop Therapeutic Factor X Candidate

ProBioGen has announced a collaboration with VarmX B.V. to support the development of VarmX’s second therapeutic Factor X candidate. Under the agreement, ProBioGen will provide cell line development using its proprietary HEK293 host cell line platform to advance the coagulation factor program.

The collaboration builds on ProBioGen’s experience in coagulation factor development, including previous work on Factor VII and Factor VIII therapeutics. According to the company, its HEK293 platform, combined with its DirectedLuck® transposase technology, is designed to address development challenges associated with coagulation factors by supporting protein maturation, proteolytic processing, and biologic activity.

VarmX said it selected ProBioGen based on the company’s experience in coagulation factor development and its HEK293 technology. According to the companies, the collaboration is intended to support the advancement of VarmX’s second therapeutic Factor X candidate through the next stage of development.
