Rentschler Biopharma SE has announced changes to its Executive Board as it enters the next phase of its corporate strategy focused on long-term growth and sustainable value creation. The changes include a leadership transition at the chief executive level and the planned departure of the company’s chief operating officer.
The company confirmed that Benedikt von Braunmuehl has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer by mutual agreement with the Supervisory Board. To ensure continuity, Uwe Buecheler, PhD, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board, has assumed the role of interim CEO with immediate effect, pending the appointment of a permanent successor.
In parallel, Rentschler Biopharma reported that Chief Operating Officer Christiane Bardroff will leave the company in the first quarter of this year after four years in the role. During her tenure, the company cited operational initiatives including the establishment of a new production line at its Milford, Massachusetts site, efficiency-driven output increases in Laupheim, and planning activities for a new buffer media station. Her successor has already been appointed and will be announced at a later date.

Rentschler Biopharma stated that under interim leadership, it will continue to focus on bioprocess development and contract manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on operational efficiency, client proximity, and business expansion across its Laupheim and Milford sites as part of its CDMO strategy.
